Picture This!

Picture This! introduces children to photography as an ideal medium for creative expression: a way to convey a story, an idea, or a moment in time. Students learn the importance of photography in communicating a message, how to operate a camera and basic elements of composition while exploring different genres of photography. They learn to communicate their vision through conversations and exhibitions.

HCP teaching artists will provide constructive feedback to all work created while providing examples from local, national and international photographers that inspire students and spark their imaginations. Throughout the program, students will search for their personal vision and will embark on the creation of a series of work that will be showcased upon the completion of the program.
