Are you an aspiring or emerging artist interested in entering the fine art marketplace? Are you adequately prepared and have the know-how to do so?  This lecture is an absolute must for every photographer who is interested in valuable tips on how to get their work collected!

HCP Instructor Alice Sachs Zimet takes you “inside the collector’s mind” to better understand where collectors shop, the questions they ask, and how those questions impact professional photographers today. She will cover the importance of online platforms, benefit auctions, how to find the ‘right’ gallery, proper etiquette when approaching them (including what not to do), and recommended marketing materials aiming at getting your name out into the marketplace.

Alice Sachs Zimet is President of Arts + Business Partners, a consulting boutique specializing in the fine art photography marketplace, which she founded in 1999. She is Chair, Photography Curatorial Committee, Harvard Art Museums, Cambridge; Chair, Collections Committee, International Center of Photography (ICP), New York; Board Member, Magnum Foundation, New York; Advisory Board Member: Center of Photography at Woodstock (CPW), Kingston, and American Photography Archives Group (APAG), New York.
