Anthony Francis
Anthony Francis is a visual artist living in San Antonio, TX. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English, an M.A. in Educational Leadership from George Washington University, and an MFA from The Academy of Art University. His photographic interests engage issues of power and love within photography— specifically the process of portraiture, opacity, and encryption. He has delivered talks at the Society of Photographic Educator’s national conference, Black Portraitures II, and collaboratively, at the District for Atlanta Contemporary. His work is exhibited widely and lives in both, private and public collections within The McNay Contemporary Art Museum, Lone Star Colleges, and the city of San Antonio. He is the Associate Professor of Practice at Texas State University in the School of Arts and Design.
